Krista’s Pet Peeve is a Mini Design Lesson

Krista Hoffman with rattan lounge chair, glass coffee table, and white sofa

We’re back with a new guest tastemaker for some quick-fire questions and a mini-curation of some fab Chairish finds!

This week we are joined by designer, Krista Hoffman. A Michigan native, she made the move to the Bay Area to work for SF design icon Martha Angus before opening her eponymous Menlo Park interiors firm. With a particular penchant for vintage and locally sourced goods (she grew up scouring flea markets with her antique collector parents), Krista is making design waves by transforming residential interiors into warm, elegant spaces across Silicon Valley. She let us in on a few of her favorite things and the story behind Hoffman Hardware, her very own line of cabinetry hardware.  Talk about nailing the side hustle!

Coolest vintage piece in your house?
A solid round, black glass cocktail table with a brass base. Super 80s and super cool.

Where’s next on your travel bucket list?
San Miguel de Allende sounds like a perfect destination for me great design, tasty drinks, and flavorful food.

Most memorable career moment you’ve had so far?
The San Francisco Decorator Showcase in 2017. I realized within the first few hours of the grand opening that the cabinetry hardware I designed for the space was going to launch into a product line for me. The response was overwhelmingly positive!

Pet peeve?
Art hanging too high and/or singularly and uncollected.
