The Winter Show

The Rockettes may have called it a wrap and Rockefeller tree dimmed, but that doesn’t mean NYC winter traditions are over just yet! Kicking off January 18th at the historic Park Avenue Armory is The Winter Show. A merge point for global ancient and contemporary works, the 65th edition of The Winter Show is bringing together 68 dealers showcasing art, antiques, and design. Of special note this year is the Nantucket Historical Association, who will be showcasing a unique collection of nautical-themed treasures. All net proceeds benefit the East Side House Settlement.

Maison et Objet

As far as pilgrimage-worthy events go, Maison et Objet, which takes place this January 18-22, is ground zero. A trade show which celebrates all things home, Maison et Objet is the place to discover stunning new furniture, accessories, textiles, fragrances, children’s goods, and tableware. Beautiful is the name of the game at Maison, where every item featured in the eight, football field-sized halls space feels both covetable and hand-picked.

FOG Design & Art

Exploratory design is on display at San Francisco’s FOG Design + Art show, which will run this January 17-20. With 45 international galleries and dozens of art and modernism dealers, the weekend affair is set to celebrate those leading talents contributing to the design and visual arts worlds. Like its foggy host city, FOG is known for showcasing an innovative, tour de force spirit. The result? A visually and mentally compelling show that’s worthy of blocking out a few hours and telling the outside world to “shhh.”

Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market

There’s no better way to get a leg up on everything new for 2019 than the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Mart. With more than 9,000 furniture and decor brands converging at the AmericasMart design center in Atlanta this massive, industry-only market is as insider as it gets. To power-boost your visit, add on a series of seminars, demos, and networking events events that the show hosts. January 8–15.

February

Kips Bay Decorator Show House, Palm Beach

Last year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House made its Palm Beach debut amid a flurry of color, tropical motifs, and plenty of bamboo lattice-work. This year, Kips Bay will again set up shop in Palm Beach, with designers making over a Mediterranean-style villa located in West Palm’s South of Southern neighborhood. Key designers who will be decking out this year’s pad include Chairish Design Insider Meg Braff, as well as L.A. designer Peter Dunham. The house will be open for viewing from January 26 to February 20th.

Nashville Antiques & Garden Show

With its lushly landscaped gardens and trademark bourbon party, there’s never been a shortage of things to love about the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show. This year’s program promises to be no different, with a stellar line-up of antique dealers, horticultural specialists, and speakers cued-up. Among the biggest reasons to book your flight to Nashville ASAP? Country songstress Faith Hill will be there dishing on her and hubby Tim McGraw’s Arch Digest-featured Bahamian Island home. Show runs from February 1-3.

Design on a Dime, Miami

Sweepstakes-style shopping collides with a feel-good cause at Design on a Dime. Running February 3-4 at the Moore Building in Miami, the much-loved event raises money for Housing Works, an agency who aims to end the AIDS epidemic nationally by 2025. This year, 30+ designers are set to design room vignettes and fill them with high-end, vendor-donated decor. Participating brands include Global Views, Stark Rugs, NOIR, Roche Bobois, and dozens more. Designers then have the chance to shop the rooms on Saturday and snatch up merch at 50-80% off list! Shopper PSA: do be prepared to break a jog.

Design Influencers Conference

Formerly known as the Design Bloggers Conference, the Design Influencers Conference kicks off on February 24th at Grand Hyatt Atlanta. The three-day event, which is aimed primarily at design bloggers, writers, and PR firms, offers dozens of workshops and forums. Hot topics include social media, e-commerce, digital branding, book publishing, and line promotion. This year the show is also premiering its brand new “Brand track” program. This portion of the show will cater to furnishings manufacturers, showroom operators, and brands aiming to connect with design influencers.
