A modest sized box of refined style in Coromandel (an ebony varietal) with reticulated gilded strapping and escutcheon. Upon the center of the lid is a Wedgwood Basaltware Medallion. Basaltware is the black and white variant of Wedgwood's famous blue and white Jasperware ceramic. The medallion depicts a romanticized Greek god with a harp or lyre and is likely intended to represent the god Apollo.
This was likely originally a sewing box, however the internal divisors have been removed, leaving just the blue lining in the lid. Would also be suitable for use as a jewelry box.
It measures 8 1/4" wide, 5 1/2" deep and is approximately 4 1/2" high with the lid closed. The center medallion is 1 1/2" in diameter.
The box is in good condition overall but has signs of age appropriate wear, including small nicks and a crack across the midsection of the ceramic medal.
Mounted between the hinges is a brass plate reading Trussell Brighton the mark of the retailer by whom this was sold.

The Chairish Buyer Guarantee ensures that you have complete peace of mind when

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

- Chairish In-Home Delivery
