TEXTURES founder, Lynda O'Connor, has always been up for an adventure. After studying art history in college, Lynda went on to have a successful career as a Chicago TV producer, was the director of tourism for the State of Illinois for about a dozen years, and worked as Oprah’s director of communications at Harpo Studios. When Lynda's husband was suddenly transferred to a job in Budapest, Hungary, she jumped at the opportunity to leave Chicago and explore a new culture. Lynda's lifelong love of textiles was reignited after being immersed in the elegant simplicity of architecture and design-centered Eastern European cultures, and she knew she had to put her passion for antique textiles to use in a new and exciting way. "I wanted to come back to the US and do something creative on my own terms, so I continued to pursue my interest in interiors by designing pillows and throws using vintage and antique textiles for the trade." Lynda continues to seek out exceptional textiles across different eras and craft traditions that speak to her highly attuned aesthetic sensibility. Working with many of the best interior design professionals in the country, Lynda has quickly become the industry's not-so-secret source for antique and vintage textiles and one-of-a-kind throws and pillows.
