Founded by award-winning interior designer Craig Tevolitz in 2006, Platemark Design helps art collectors — new and seasoned — live with art in the most beautiful way, integrating their artwork seamlessly into the décor it creates. Every Platemark interior is a direct reflection of the clients' collection, style and how they desire to live.

Platemark believes décor should set the stage, not be the stage. After years of practice, Platemark recognizes that the needs of art collectors reach far beyond traditional interior design challenges. Collectors traditionally want an interior that complements — not competes or clashes with — their art. As well, the company appreciates the passion collectors have for their artwork and their desire to display it throughout their homes. With careful planning, living with art is possible in every room — even in kitchens, baths and other unexpected places.

With this in mind, the design process routinely springs from a client's art collection, and Platemark will also recommend pieces to further a client's collection and surroundings. Its interior designs incorporate collection-specific solutions that museums and galleries employ, such as specialized lighting, casework, protection from sunlight and art storage. Platemark also plans for the natural growth of collections, and provides clients with space to acquire new pieces and rotate their artwork.

Craig Tevolitz, Principal of Platemark Design, is a long-time leader in — and an active part of — New England's art community. Currently, he serves on the Board of Advisors of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In addition to comprehensive interior designs for private homes, vacation properties, townhouses and apartments throughout New England and beyond, Platemark has designed retail art gallery spaces.

Platemark's work has been featured in numerous publications and on TV, including New England Home, Design New England, ID Boston, Boston Common, the Boston Globe, the Wall Street Journal and WCVB. Most recently, Platemark Design was selected Best of Boston 2018 by Boston Home.
