    Shop Banner

At Mergal Architecture & Design we design new traditional architecture for the 21st century that celebrates the purpose and spirit of our clients. We help you figure out how you want to live or work by listening to your dreams or problems and dovetailing the solution to your existing building or community. Our clients are individuals or institutions who want their houses, places of work or places of worship to fit in a historical neighborhood or want the authentic “look-feel” of a classic, but with today’s amenities. Why? Because “trendy is the last stage before tacky” and our clients want something that will transcend today’s trends. They want to conserve and increase the value of their properties with designs that are detailed well and built for the long term. We are fortunate to have extraordinary clients such as institutions, corporations, and individuals from New York City and East Hampton to the Caribbean.

Good design is not a solo pursuit, but the result of an effective collaboration with you (the client) and other consultants. We lead the process and organize all the interrelated disciplines (engineers and other consultants) with vision derived from your goals. You place your trust in us to integrate your requirements to the project’s urban, rural, or oceanfront context, to its functional and decorative program, and to its economic parameters.

Our goal is to design harmonious places with deep connections to your sense of “well-being” and “belonging”; places which are full of your best childhood memories and where you discover moments of joy, reflection or inspiration.
