We are are an award-winning, design-oriented team of architects and landscape architects with decades of experience designing a wide range of buildings and gardens.

We think of architecture as art, and of each house and garden we design as a work of art that reflects the needs, sensitivities and ethos or each particular client. Clients do not hire us to merely produce a series of blueprints; rather, they commission a work of art. Our job is to produce a work of art which they will feel represents an extension of themselves.

We pride ourselves in our ability to integrate buildings into their landscapes, and in our solid knowledge of classical forms and architectural history. Knowing tradition, however, does not imply that we are bound by it. We know traditional forms, and frequently design traditional-style architecture. We also design award-winning modern houses. When designing a modern structure, the history of shapes helps us to decide when and where to tweak or even break traditional rules.

We have accomplished our mission not when we have designed a building that fits perfectly within a specific style, but when the client looks at the design and thinks: yes, this is me. In order to achieve this feeling of recognition, we engage in active listening and we encourage our clients to become active members of the design team. It is their house or their garden, not ours. That is why our designs are so varied: because our clients are so varied.
