Tom Huth, Registered Architect, NCARB, LEED AP founded HUTH Architects in 1982. He received his degree in Master in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1978.

From the beginning, HUTH Architects has specialized in the design of custom single-family residences. In addition, his firm is recognized for the renovation and expansion of historically sensitive structures; the design of signature restaurants in and around Boston; residential, commercial, and corporate interiors; and the design of custom furniture, lighting, and architectural elements. Tom’s work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, Metropolitan Home, New England Home, Boston Home, Robb report, and New England Design.

From the beginning, HUTH Architects has strategically focused on delivering projects on schedule and on budget. The firm’s exposure to the commercial market and its methods of project delivery informs its approach to the residential market, one which emphasizes the ability to identify priorities in the earliest stages of a project. The ability to communicate these priorities to contractors, vendors, and clients has proven to be the key to the success of this model.

Recently, the firm has increased its commitment to design and build in an environmentally conscious mode. While demand for a rigorous sustainable methodology applicable to the high-end residential market is still small, there is a growing demand for a more responsible approach to design and HUTH Architects has committed itself to the research necessary to meet it.

It is the combination of these skills – dedication to the client’s budget and schedule, an artful and sensuous realization of their program, and a real commitment to environmentally responsible design – that forms the basis of a successful practice. Tom’s dedication to forming lasting relationships with his clients, employees, and the contractors and vendors with whom he partners, is both what sets his practice apart and allows a small firm to tackle increasingly challenging projects.
