Born in Beirut, raised and based in Paris, Hala salem is an illustrator and print designer.
Her imaginary, colorful universe is a never-ending message of hope where spirituality is happily depicted through lucky charms and mystical details one is familiar in real life.
Her pluricultural background and her playfulness joyfully bring together all these sacred objects from various eras and cultures.
Her style mixes several techniques, combining old school processes as painting and hand drawing with modern and digital tools.
After graduation from Academie Charpentier in Paris, Hala worked as Art Director at CLM/BBDO and FCA, before moving to London, where her entrepreneurial and creative energy resulted in the launch of Graphic Candies in 2005.
The innovating and pioneering line of wall decals rapidly found rapidly found its way in some of Paris trendiest spots: Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Palais de Tokyo and various trend setting concept stores.
With international coverage by Harpers Bazaar, The Coveteur, Elle, Marie Claire Arabia, Hala successfully collaborated with prestigious brands such as Aquazzura, Coach, Clarins, La Maison Pierre Frey, Lacoste, Leonard Paris..
Her distinctive style got her a nomination in Harpers Bazaar Best Dress List.
Also her illustrations animated several TV commercials worldwide.
Hala is currently operating from her studio she founded in Paris in 2005.
