Betty Vroom Fine Arts is the successor to the local art and antique business founded by its namesake in the 1960's. We continue in her tradition as ardent collectors of the art and antiques of the North Fork of Long Island. The North Fork’s bays and creeks with their unique, ever changing colors and moods have been a source of inspiration for plein air artists. The 20 Century figurative art of the North Fork ranges from photographic realism (William Steeple Davis) to impressionism, and flirtations with later art movements including cubism and abstract art. We are located in an historic North Fork farmhouse. The fact that the North Fork had been a whaling and ship building region with a strong maritime heritage, exposed its community to far flung places, and our collection, while primarily American, includes pieces from Europe and Asia. Our Southwestern art was collected on our travels during the past 30 years in the Gila Wilderness of New Mexico, where artists have created paintings depicting the varying colors of the desert landscape in this area, of our country, straddling
the Continental Divide. Our collection includes vintage highwaymen paintings and Florida Rattan furniture,
