I love design, and excelled in design classes while in art school. I decided to go the path of my other love, photography, and have been working as a location scout for TV commercials, movies and print ads for the past 30 or more years. I've worked with some of the top film directors and still photographers. When I started out in film, I worked in the set decoration (set dec) department with the Emmy award winning Set Decorator from "Miami Vice." I met him in Tampa just after the "Miami Vice" TV show wrapped, and he began doing TV commercials. He'd ask me to assist him in Miami when he had large projects. I often regret having changed departments, and not moving to Miami to work full time there. I have a passion for treasure hunting, an eye for great design and almost a second sense when I see something, and I know that it must be valuable. Either for monetary or simply artistic value. I don't believe in buying art or antiques as an investment. I buy things for myself when I see something that I absolutely have to have, because it moves me, or makes me happy. And, I rarely buy anything to sell that I wouldn't put in my own house. I don't believe in Feng shui, or that every piece, style, texture or period must be matching. My house is a mish mosh of eclectic pieces. As one of my favorite Designers says, "If you like it, it works." Thanks for looking! Guy
