Achille Salvagni leads his eponymous, multidisciplinary, and award-winning architecture and design firm with offices in Rome, London and New York. The firm, which specializes in creating sophisticated residential and yacht interiors and is renowned for its excellence in design. Though an avowed modernist, Salvagni’s work consistently bears the weight of history – not in overt references, but in his material richness, impeccable craftsmanship, and deeply layered narrative, resulting in work that is both philosophical and romantic. Growing up in Rome, he was greatly influenced by its history and design heritage – the materials, patina, architectural legacy, and especially the 1920’s and 1930’s, which he views as a period when Italian designers were looking at the future while taking stock of the past. This philosophy can be seen in everything Salvagni designs.

Salvagni takes a highly personal approach, creating atmospheres that imbue beauty and serenity. He views each interior project as an opportunity to bring to fruition his client’s vision and to take them beyond their expectations. He and his expert team work closely with clients, specialists, and craftsmen to do just that. With passion for their work, the firm fosters an atmosphere of creativity within this professional environment. A high level of personal service coupled with respect for the precious resources of cost and time is what distinguishes the relationship the firm develops with its clients. His elegant interiors can be found around the globe, including residences in New York, London, Mumbai, Miami, Palm Beach, Paris, and Rome. His yacht interiors have generated annual acclaim, consistently taking top prizes at the World Superyacht Awards and the Cannes Yachting Festival as well as being named Robb Report’s Yacht of the Year.

In 2013 Salvagni founded Achille Salvagni Atelier, a studio devoted to the production of his limited-edition furniture and lighting. In the same year, his work was introduced to the American market by leading design gallery Maison Gerard in New York City where his work continues to be shown. Benoist F. Drut, owner of Maison Gerard, describes Achille as “a rare breed of designer that has not really been seen since the mid-20th century. He works in the tradition of the great masters, Jean-Michel Frank and Jules Leleu. He has a 21st century perspective and a distinct point of view with his design, use of materials, and finishes that make everything he touches masterful.” In 2015 his flagship Atelier in London opened, showcasing his limited-edition works in bi-annual thematic presentations. His pieces can also be seen at Giustini/Stagetti Galleria O in his native city of Rome.

His limited-edition works can be found in the collections of luminaries from the worlds of fashion, business, entertainment, music, and art, and key pieces have achieved outstanding results at highly regarded international auctions. Salvagni’s work can be seen in international publications including the FT’s How to Spend It, Architectural Digest, Departures, Robb Report, Galerie, Wall Street Journal, and SOTHEBY'S. He has been recognized as one of Galerie Magazine’s Creative Minds, included on Elle Decor’s A-list and featured as one of the 100 best designers of the year in the AD Collector’s special design issue. In the fall of 2019, Rizzoli International published Achille Salvagni, the first monograph on his work, authored by the distinguished design journalist, Pilar Viladas.
