A lightweight wood has … moreA hand-made and hand-painted Japanese bento box with tiered trays and a mesmerizing repeating wave pattern. A lightweight wood has been painted with a red brown finish and embellished with a quick dry brush stroke while the finish was still wet. This has given the box a wave like pattern. The bottom box is deepest. The other two trays are the same height. One of these is divided into four compartments. The lid has a matching design. Small finishing nails show on the sides. MEASUREMENTS8” (20.3 cm) long x 7 ¾” (19.7 cm) deep x 9” (22.9 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 12.4 oz (1260 g) CONDITIONThe various trays do not nest in each other perfectly. The top and bottom of the base, as well as one side of the lid, have splits in the wood. There is a starting separation on the compartmentalized tray and the corners of the other inner tray.
