I have seen some etchings in the past by Chester B Price but never this one. This particular etching is considered one of his best works. Actually, the only other place I can find this etching is as part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian. I have also found an auction record for it at Swann for more than twice what I am asking. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. This is an incredible view of the New York Public Library in profile looking straight down to the Empire State Building. Image measures 10 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches on its complete original sheet. Signed in pencil lower right. A wonderful crisp dark impression in fantastic condition. About as good as you are going to find of an impression. There is a small dented impression in the paper in the center left margin that isnt really visible. I just wanted to mention it so the new owner is not surprised when it arrives. It is hard to see and was hard to photograph. Sheet is taped verso at the edges into the back of an archival matte and then safely housed in simple black metal frame. Really this print needs to be matted and framed in a much better presentation and that will make it a superior, museum quality addition to any collection. Frame measures 16 1/4 x 12 1/4 inches.
