Italy, 20/30 origin italy period years 20/30 author giuseppe bellorini (1901-1980), strict collaborator of guido andlovitz, is decorator at the 's.c.i.' from 1919 at least until 1949. Source brand s.c.i. Italian ceramics company (lavenia, verbanum, lavenite). Founded in laveno in 1856 by severino revelli and some former employees of the 'richard' manifattura in milan, including carnelli and caspani, the 's.c.i.' (italian ceramic company) begins its activity as a manufacturer of coating tiles and fine terraced pottery of english imitation. In 1883 he takes shape of anonymous society and obtains the first successes to numerous national exhibitions. In 1895 the cavalier luciano scotti is at the head of the company and thanks to his intuition and his entrepreneurial skills the factory, in a few years, reaches a unthinkable development. In those years, some liberty-style pieces signed by giorgio sertini, author of elegant creations to 'whisk shot is noteworthy. In 1906 the 's.c.i.' it presents numerous works to the international exhibition of decorative arts in milan. Other staff at the beginning of the century are silvio and piero de ambrosis, felice palucco, giancarlo jacopini and the brothers marco and luigi raggiiri. But it was in 1923 that, under the direction of guido andlovitz, the manufacture reaches the maximum of his fame and in 1925 he obtained a great statement at the ii biennial of monza. Andlovitz, who will work with the manufacture for almost forty years, applies to the production of the principle of seriality, so unnecessarily invoked by giò ponti to the 'richard-ginori', adopting types of decoration that, although in the mold and / or decal, still maintain one of them unquestionable elegance. In 1924 the 'ceramica company revelli' is consortious with the 's.c.i.', the association will continue until 1932 and will see the company by franco revelli dealing with the pottery and table porcelain on behalf of 's.c.i.'. From 1925 in factory catalogs begin to appear dishes and porcelain tombstones. In 1927 the company is present at the iii biennale of decorative arts of monza. Between the end of the 1920s and the beginning of the thirties begin to collaborate with 's.c.i.' the decorators giuseppe bellorini and daniela ferretto. At the beginning of 1932 the manufacture has two establishments in management: that of laveno, who, with over 1300 employees, produces strong pottery, tableware and artistic ceramics and that of verbano, which occupies about 400 people and which produces, in addition to ceramics for the electrical industry, excellent table porcelain. The production is marketed in the shops of rome, genoa and naples made for the company, on the project of the same andlovitz \.
