Carolyn Carlson, born in California, American dancer and choreographer who worked in New York as a soloist in the company of Alvin Nikolais will participate in the development of the young new French dance upon her arrival in France. Rolf Liebermann, director of the Opéra Garnier named her star choreographer, a position created especially for her. The Théâtre de la Ville invited her to a residency where she would create notable choreographies. Then she joined Fenice in Venice in 1981 where she created a solo that toured the world Blue Lady, a choreography that gave birth to a film: Song. She has created more than a hundred pieces, including L'Or des fous; Wind, Water, sand; The Year of the horse \.\. She is the founder of Ateliers de Paris at the Cartoucherie de Vincennes in 1999. Her shows are the subject of numerous international tours. Still in business, she is also a calligrapher and author of poems. (Southern Acts) she acquired French nationality in 2019. Coming from a large Vietnamese family, Claude Lê Anh moved to France in 1950 to continue his studies. Her career is eclectic to say the least, since she goes from Decorative Arts (School of the rue d'Ulm), to Fundamental Sciences and becomes a chemical engineer. Then she turned definitively towards art by integrating the Louis Lumière School. While directing the microfilm service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Library, Claude Lê Anh began his prestigious career as a portrait painter and photo-reporter.From 1975, she decides to devote herself exclusively to the spectacle (dance, theater, opera). Authorized photographer of Carolyn Carlson and Jorge Lavelli among others, Claude Lê Anh has also worked with big names on the French and international scene such as Jeanne Moreau, Delphine Seyrig, Patrice Chéreau, Merce Cunningham, Angelin Preljocaj \.\.She has published several books on opera, theater and dance and has done numerous exhibitions both in France and abroad, notably at the Galerie CANON, the Center Georges Pompidou and the Biennale de Paris.Lê Anh is also a renowned videographer, who has made films concerning both the Plastic Arts and the theater and especially ballet where she regularly collaborates with Carolyn Carlson, Luisa Casiraghi and Larrio Ekson.She received a “Camera d'Or” at the Opéra-Bastille, rewarding the best dance videogram. Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
