A vintage mechanical wall clock manufactured by Anker in Germany, dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1970s). It is a traditional "box regulator" style clock featuring a solid golden-colored oak cabinet, an ornate arched top pediment with decorative wood carvings, and a round brass-colored dial with roman numerals. The bottom section contains a large round brass pendulum bob visible behind a glass door panel accented by classic leaded or geometric grilles.
The clock houses a high-quality German-engineered mechanical capable of playing three chime configurations. I believe you can choose between: Silent, Westminster, St. Michael's, and Whittington.
There is a hand-engraved mark on the inside edge of the case. I believe this was engraved by the previous owner to guard against theft.
MEASUREMENTS
30 ½ in (77.5 cm) tall x 13 in (33 cm) wide x 7 ¼ in (18.4 cm) deep. Weighs 17 lbs 8 oz.
CONDITION
Has the key, pendulum and adjustable hanger. The case is in great condition. The only significant wear is where the door rubs when you open it and one 1/4 in long dig on the corner . Otherwise, the wood case has only light wear and scratches. The clock runs but although it was kept in a clean home, I don’t believe it has been cleaned for many years.
This is a very nice, traditional wall clock with a high-quality German movement.
