A beautifully rustic mid‑century French corkscrew crafted from authentic old‑vine grapevine wood, complete with its original brass “BOURGOGNES PATRIARCHE” plaque — the historic Burgundy wine house founded in 1780. The metal worm is stamped “Siret of France,” a mid‑century French maker’s mark used on quality bar tools and wine accessories.
The handle is classic grapevine: gnarled, sculptural, and naturally polished with rich knots and organic movement that burlwood simply does not produce. These pieces were sold as cellar souvenirs in Burgundy during the 1950s–1970s and have become collectible for their authenticity and regional charm.
