  • "Up may need them when you have company. We have the matching table and sideboard. From the collection. They to are beautifully made. Thank you again. If you ever downsize again keep me in mind. Sincerely, Richard Royster"

  • "Betsy, I understand your problem with the smaller chair. Your like me you want everything to match. These are well crafted Philadelphia made chippendale chairs. These chairs have an interesting history on how they come to Mount Vernon. If you go to the M.V. Web site it tells the history of them. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has one in there collection. There web. Site also has the history of the chairs. I appreciate your kindness. But don't break up your set. Put the other chairs in a closet. Next"

  • "Richard R.: Hi richard - I brought the smaller chair up from my basement to put around my table. While I have always had this chair in my DR, it has always been against the wall as an extra chair and has never bothered me, In my new house, the DR is open to the LR, FR and kitchen and I only have 6 chairs around the table, and none against the wall. Unfortunately this makes the smaller chair stand out too much. I would be willing to part with the two chairs for $325 only if the smaller one is included."

  • "Hi Betsy, Sorry it's taken so long to respond. I'm in New Mexico training. Will you take 350 for the two matching chairs. Rich"

    Nov. 10, 2016, 11:31 a.m.

  • "Richard R.: depending on the price, I would consider two matching chairs. Let me know what you would offer betsy"

  • "Betsy , Sorry it's taken so long to respond. I've also been busy with family and work. I'm a firefighter in Houston and work has been crazy. Thanks for considering splitting up the set. These chairs have a special meaning to me because of there relationship with George Washington and MountVernon. Would you consider two matching chairs? Thanks, Richard"

  • "Richard R.: I apologize for the delay, but have been out of the area again. I would consider selling 2 of the chairs with one being a slightly smaller size. Let me know what you would offer betsy"

  • "Hi Betstsy, Still intrested in the chairs. Just wanted to keep in touch with you. Rich Royster"

  • "Richard R.: let's definitely stay in touch. Touch base with me in a few weeks. Let's see where we stand then and maybe we can come to an agreement on the price of 2 chairs"

  • "Betsey, I'm still interested. Let me know if you change your mind. Thanks, Rich Royster"

    Sept. 21, 2016, 7:32 p.m.

  • "Richard - I will keep you in mind if I do not sell. Unfortunately I am using them until I do sell and if I were going to sell 2 of the chairs, I would probably need to have $225 for each chair which I know if more than I am selling the set for."

    Sept. 21, 2016, 7:46 a.m.

  • "Thank you for answering my e-mail. I understand more people want a set of eight than six. If we had room for 14 chairs I would buy them. Your offering them at a good price. I have to ask you how much for two chairs? If you don't get offers please remember me. Thanks , Rich Royster"

    Sept. 20, 2016, 6:30 p.m.

  • "Richard R.: Hi richard - I am sorry I did not get your first email and I have been tied up this morning. I am concerned about breaking up the set of 8 chairs at this time. I still have them out in my dining room (only used 1x a year), but if I break them up, I will be left with 6 only, with one being a slightly smaller size. The only possible way I might sell is at a much higher price for the two. I don't know what you think about this."

    Sept. 20, 2016, 1:49 p.m.

  • "Richard R.: Hi Betsey, wasn't sure if you got my e-mail about the dining chairs . Thanks Richard"

    Sept. 20, 2016, 1:21 p.m.

  • "Hi Betsy, Wasn't sure you got my last e-mail. I've been looking for these side chairs for 17 years. My wife and I purchased the Hick. Chair M.V. Dining table, six chairs and the sideboard when we got married. Then H.C. Discontinued the line. Are the chairs still available? Would you sale two side chairs.? This would give us six sides two arms. Thank, Richard Royster"
