This is a matted original design painting for silk fabric that dates to the 1930s. It is a floral design done in gouache on thick paper stock. We were fortunate to find this design (and its companion-also available in our shop) in Lyon, France. The Lyonaise manufacturer's stamp in the lower right attests to its origin. Lyon was the capital of silk fabric designs and creations. Lyon's silk history has spanned many centuries, survived tumultuous years of difficulties yet, still today, is a major center for the design and the manufacture of extraordinary fabrics. All of haute couture starts with this! Please zoom in to note how the white translucent and opaque gouache come together to create a composition of delicate floral vingettes. Note too the highlights of the gold threading. Excellent condition. 10.5 x 14.5 inches in size; comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. The Chairish Buyer Guarantee ensures that you have complete peace of mind when

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

- Chairish In-Home Delivery
