Magdalene is depicted here in the foreground, with her long hair loose, in an attitude of prayer and meditation in the desert, which here appears in the background as a Nordic landscape. The work was previously restored and relined, probably in the early 20th century. It is presented in an early 20th-century gilded frame (minor damage to the wood and regilding). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
