Lithograph on cardboard of a work by the artist Cel Le Gaucher entitled "Au bois sacré, la course espagnole" and dated 1926, depicting a nude woman/nymph waving a bullfighter-style cloth in front of a satyr (a deity with a man's body and goat's horns/legs; in Greek mythology, wild spirits of the woods who loved alcohol and women), with a centaur in the background.
Marcel Canguilhem (1895-1949) was a French draftsman, illustrator, poster artist, and sculptor (Landes), who lost his right arm during WWI, forcing him to retrain his left hand to continue working, hence his artist's name; he often explored the themes of war (poilus, the hospital) and sport (bullfighting, corrida, rugby), often with humor. Work presented in an Art Deco wooden frame, stylized geometric frieze This piece has an attribution mark,
