The lid’s scene—a humorous and slightly risqué hunting vignette of a maiden, dog, and hunter—captures the whimsical storytelling tradition found in many late 19th- and early 20th-century steins. Attributed to Val St. Lambert or Josephinenhütte.

The stein is marked “0.5L” and bears with a crown and cross hallmark attributed to premier glassworks active from the mid-19th to early 20th century. The hinged pewter lid includes an ornate thumb lift and a delicate engraving along the rim, adding a touch of personalized history.
