moreThis pair of beautifully rendered architectural capitals is classic. Soft charcoal and black colored pastels define this pair of Corinthian and Ionic capitals. The pair are on a granite textured background- identical colored paper and mats. There is a slight difference in tone in the photos due to the angles the pair were photographed at.
The pastels were created by California artist Loran Speck (1943-2011). Born and raised in California, Speck trained at Oregon State University. He and his brother, Gene, also an artist were and are part of the artist colony that operates in Carmel, CA. Gene continues to operate the gallery- Loran Speck Gallery to this day.
