Beautiful pair of vintage, heavy cast iron Canadian Geese bookends/doorstops. There are no maker marks that we could find, but the appear to have been handcrafted crafted by Harry R Jobes of Aberdeen, Maryland. Purchased from a local family in Havre de Grace, the decoy capital of the US. You are likely to find Captain Harry Jobes or one of the Jobes relative's decoys in practically every home in Havre de Grace, usually a large white swan looms in the picture window.
Theses wonderful bookends are in great shape, free of cracks and other structural damage. Some light surface rust in areas. They sit about 8" tall and are VERY heavy, approx. 8lbs a piece.
