moreA stunning, highly sought after pair of early production Senator series chairs model #116 designed by Ole Wanscher, produced by France & Son, Denmark C1951. Purchased from their original owner who exported them from France to the United States in the early 1960's, these wonderful lounge chairs feature solid teak wood frames, original oatmeal fabric upholstery and timeless modern lines.
Elegant from any angle, the simple, yet well thought out design of the teak frames allow them to effortlessly float anywhere in the room. Each chair features a slight arch to the solid teak backrests backrest for optimal support and comfort. The cushions have internal springs that are wrapped in foam and white poly, allowing them to retain their firmness and shape all these years. Authentic France & Sons label is present on each chair.
Overall both chairs are in great vintage condition. The chair frames are free from cracks, breaks or repairs and maintain all their original structural value. The cushions are still firm and plush. The original oatmeal fabric seat covers are do show signs of wear from 60+ years of use, and can be used as is or replaced to match your current decor. These chairs can easily be the centerpiece of any space and make an incredible set along with the matching France & Son Senator Series #116 full sized sofa (sold desperately).
*These chairs will ship with the original spring loaded cushions which are incredibly comfortable. They are perfectly fine for immediate use, but we would recommend they be recovered in your choice of fabric and color.
