moreON HOLD --- This is such a stunning piece of Danish design. Crafted in the 1950s or early 1960s by Ørum Møbler -- who produced many of famed designer Erik Buck's pieces -- this gorgeous secretary desk is clearly influenced by Finn Juhl / Niels Vodder's sculptural external legs.
Check out the way the cabinetmaker has carefully matched the grain all the way up the drawers, on the horizontal surface, and up the drop-down desk front. Beautiful! The external carved and turned oak legs are a very elegant and distinctive feature, along with the hand-carved drawer pulls.
On the top is a bookshelf or display area. Inside the drop-down desk are small drawers and a cabinet door which opens to reveal another small drawer. Below are three spacious drawers. Although originally intended as a vanity, this would be a wonderful piece for the entryway, living room, bedroom or office.
It is in excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of wear and use. There are some old, well-blended repairs along the bottom edges of the case. The middle drawer has a slight veneer separation inside the drawer. The inner door has small veneer chips on the bottom edge, and the very top bookshelf area has a couple of light rings. Please look carefully at the photos of these areas. All in all it presents very well and is a gorgeous piece!
