Inspired by dance and weightlessness, Granville Beals' industrial metal sculptures use raw scrap and metals which he manipulates to defy the expectation of the medium. Beals is passionate about re-purposing industrial scrap to create his art – which he views as a unique form of recycling. The process of re-purposing and manipulating materials that might otherwise be destined for the foundry presents unique challenges that spark his creative impulses.
This balanced, industrial sculpture is 17 inches high by 8 inches wide and 5 inches deep. Beals used welded painted steel as the medium for this artwork. The date and artist's signature are located on the sculpture's base. This sculpture can be displayed easily on any flat surface, both indoor and outdoor. If outdoors, artwork may develop a natural patina over time. Free local Los Angeles delivery. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Granville Beals was born and raised in Glens Falls, New York. As a teenager he moved to New York City where he received a Ford Foundation Scholarship to study and train at New York City Ballet’s School of American Ballet. The choreography of lines and the dynamics of negative space are elements that inform Beals’ work.
“Metal embodies fascinating contradictions. Within its rigid and dense cold mass lives a warmth and a sensuality waiting to be revealed. The coarse, loud and often brutal process of working with metal combined with the fiery violence of the weld induces a state of surprising tranquility. I often sketch out my ideas for new pieces and other times simply wait patiently and listen for the material to give me instructions.”
Beals’ work is held in both private and public collections. His public sculptures can be found in California, New York, and Internationally.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
- Once shipping or pickup has been initiated, the cancellation will be considered a return and you will be responsible for the cost of shipping.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
