  • "Jan: Happy to do so, Jan. thanks!"

    Oct. 5, 2016, 5:44 a.m.

  • "Thanks for your patience! I've figured out a way to get this done. So if the $110.00 is good, I'll make an offer. Again, thanks for your patience!!!"

    Oct. 5, 2016, 5:27 a.m.

  • "Jan: Sorry to hear that, Jan. Appreciate their tough bargaining skills, but I can't afford to sell my inventory for less than I pay, so I''ll have to pass. I have no doubt, they can find similar scales in Turkey for the price they'd like, if they've got a few months to spend looking there... but shipping is going to be considerably more. :) Thanks, anyway, Jan, and all our best."

  • "Between you & me, some clients are tough. They really want this, but only want to pay $90.00. If you agree to that they will buy both. Go figure? Thanks, take care."

    Oct. 4, 2016, 8:21 p.m.

  • "Jan: correct. you bid, I'll accept. thanks!"

    Sept. 26, 2016, 8:43 p.m.

  • "Ok, so it will be $110.00 total? I think I have them convinced it is worth it. Should I make an offer on the site & you will accept? They don't want to make the offer unless they know you will accept. Thanks for your patience. Take care."

    Sept. 26, 2016, 8:26 p.m.

  • "Jan: I'm sorry Jan - that price does not include shipping. The piece is set for $20 additional shipping charge, on top of your bid amount, which we have to have. (FYI, that amount won't cover the actual shipping cost (it's very heavy), but we'll absorb additional cost.)"

    Sept. 26, 2016, 7:22 a.m.

  • "So, $90 includes shipping? That would work! Should I place an offer on the site? Thanks, take care."

    Sept. 26, 2016, 5:56 a.m.

  • "Jan: Forgot I'd added a shipping charge on these. I can do $90, but that's best I can do. If it helps, these really are gorgeous scales!"

    Sept. 24, 2016, 8:06 p.m.

  • "Am buying for a client to be used for advertising. They only are willing to bid $75.00, as there is an additional $20 for shipping. Don't want to insult, but told them I would ask. Would be interested in 2 if that would help. Thanks!"

    Sept. 24, 2016, 6:33 p.m.

  • "Jan: Hi, Jan. they're old pieces, not reproductions. (we don't do reproduction stuff, period). Exactly how old is hard to say, as many street vendors in Turkey still use this sort of scale to weigh foodstuffs, like chestnuts, etc. I'd date as circa 1960s to 1980s, and perhaps a bit earlier, depending on the piece. For some (like the one in this image), pans have been replaced, due to extensive wear, and so are not original to the scale. Thanks, and if you have other questions, we're happy to answer!"

    Sept. 24, 2016, 10:47 a.m.

  • "Are these old or reproductions? If old, what is their age?"
