1980s / 1990s era Strasbourg Flowers Pitchers - a pair.
Marked Portugal, from a very fine ceramic manufacturer there.
8" tall, 9" wide at middle, 3.75" diameter of the base.
Beautifully decorated with green dots, pink / red flower blossoms, and green / black stems and leaves on a white ground.
Ceramic glaze and colorings are clear and bright, with charming even patina of some preliminary grazing. Present as perfect vintage. Appear to have been used more as vases for bouquets than as food ware over the years.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...we have long loved fine Portuguese pottery, and Tiffany & Co.'s offerings of it in the 1980s and 1990s were wonderful. You can use it in food service, as a vase for flowers, or purely as decorative. And this raspberry + green + black + pink colorway pair with so many other patterns. Terrific to have around the house and - hey - it's Tiffany!
