  • "Tara: They are simple bulbs the kind used for picture lights and fish tanks/ they old standard receptacles, due to the fact that they are metal and the shade is so close to the bulb I would advise a 40 watt bulb as a 60 or higher could cause too much heat, I do not have the original paperwork which would more tan likely give a wattage recommendation, Hope this helps, Thom"

  • "Hello. Are the lamps fully functional as-is, with bulbs included? What is the maximum bulb wattage you can use with them?"

  • "katherine, These take a long narrow bulb, bsically what you buy for a fish tank. so brightness is not the issue. Because they are basically a back light and not directional they would not be a first choice for reading. I hopr this helps. Thanks, Thom"
