This stunning piece was created as a prototype for a line of porcelain Limoges dishes that was never released, resulting in an extremely limited edition. Here, Erni works in a shimmering mid-century-inspired palette of thoughtfully balanced warm and cool hues, seamlessly blending classical renderings of three-dimensional form with two-dimensional design. The porcelain is practically weightless, with a small wire looped securely through the back for effortless, professional-quality hanging.
About Hans Erni, artist laureate of Switzerland: "Strongly influenced by Mondrian, Kandinsky, Braque, Picasso, Calder and Moore, with whom he exhibited in Paris in the 1930s, Erni ... rank[ed] as the national artist of Switzerland ... All of Erni's recent works continue to reflect what the late Sir Herbert Read, the distinguished Harvard art professor and historian, characterized as 'certainly the most talented' and one of the 'very few artists in the Western World (who) have been brave enough to protest' the worldwide movement to eliminate humanism in art." - On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for full cost of return packing & shipping.
- Local Pickup & Local Delivery
- All sales are final once buyer or buyer’s agent takes possession of an item.
- Upon inspection, if you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller. Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final. Please contact support@chairish.com to let us know you did not accept the item and would like to initiate a refund.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
- Once shipping or pickup has been initiated, the cancellation will be considered a return and you will be responsible for the cost of shipping.
