  • "Gertie F.: HI Gertie, I believe its sheepskin wool, its quite durable. And its not "dirty" - so i don't believe a lot of cleaning would be necessary for the piece. But that of course, is your call to make. Hope that helps. Thanks for your interest."

  • "how do you clean the white material on this piece? it looks like cotton and must be very delicate to handle."

  • "how do you clean the white material that looks like cotton? what kind of material is it?"

  • "Emily M.: Hi Emily, actually the center back is made of a "almost lightweight cardboard" - which is a bit strange, but that's the only way to describe it. The front is a cardboard, with a slick backing on its rear. which is black, but you won't ever see that because its the portion up against the wall. I think the cardboard style backing was used as to not distract from the piece itself, so it blends as opposed to pops out. (or that's my thinking on it)"

  • "Studio 180: Okay, great...thank you! One more question -- what is the center piece/backing made of? Leather?"

    March 17, 2016, 12:12 p.m.

  • "Emily M.: Hi Emily, I don't know quite a lot on the piece, but that it did come from travels in the late 70's, and from Arizona, though i'm not sure which tribe or reservation it originated. Hope that helps! Its a magnificent piece!"

  • "Hi -- Beautiful it! Can you tell me more abt the history (place of origin, date of manufacture, etc)?"
