Offered here is an Amerique Baroque-style gold-plated necklace and matching clip-back earrings from the 1950s. The design exemplifies classic Baroque characteristics, include flowing lines, floral motifs, and an obsession with symmetry. The central portion is comprised of three panels linked together, each in a mirror-image motif of curling ribbons and leaves. Each segment is centered with a large bi-color watermelon glass stone, flanked by rows of glass pearls and accented by Aurora Borealis crystals scattered throughout. The middle segment has a row of fine mesh chain dangles beneath it, with a teardrop glass pearl hanging over them. To either side are smaller linked sections in a leaf design with the AB crystals, followed by small curved links also set with AB crystals, finished with a hook and flattened chain section for adjustable Length. The design of the earrings replicates the central panel of the necklace, with the fine chain dangles and teardrop pearl. Amerique is a rare and elusive maker; very little is known about them. From the materials, artistry, and workmanship, they were clearly high-end. This particular set is unsigned but I have had several similar pieces with the block-letter signature; several of those pieces also had the notation "pat pend", which dates these to the early 1950s. This is an opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind piece of Mid-Century history, a spell-binding example of over-the-top glamour that will entrance and delight. Condition: earrings are near-mint and seem scarcely worn; necklace has some slight wear to the reverse, but all is fresh and bright. Dimensions: necklace, adjustable up to 16"L x 1.25"W, center drop, 2.5"; earrings, 2.75"L x 1"W.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
