The naked female body has been immortalized so many times in various art forms, and the Art Deco period witnessed a resurgence in popularity of this choice. I wanted to photograph this statue outside so as to benefit from natural light, not to mention wanting to capture the beauty of my rose bush and its abundance of blossoms. The statue is marked bronze on the figure's right leg (refer to picture 8) and has a green patina that fits in beautifully with the foliage in the background. The marble base is signed Luc (refer to picture 8 as well), the name being etched into the marble. I don't know who Monsieur Luc is, but he certainly captured the essence of feminine beauty no matter which angle you view this statue from. This statue is an authentic item from the Art Deco period and is in very good condition, the only flaw that I need to point out is a small nick in the back of the marble base, also visible in picture 8. The underside of the marble base is covered in green felt so that you can display this piece without scratching the surface of your furniture. Whenever I come across an Art Deco statue of this quality, I'm always delighted as they are truly scarce.
