Anna’s Agenda: April’s Hot Happenings

Anna Brockway and Emily Henderson look at painting for sale

From must-see design world events to holidays, our co-founder shares what she’s looking forward to in April. Prepare to plan your month!

Our ‘Best of Round Top’ Sale
Beloved stylist and design blogger Emily Henderson and I just cleared out the best of the best at the Marburger Farm at Texas’ amazing Round Top Antique Fair (that’s us shopping above).  It was huuuuge. On April 6th come shop our picks and go behind the scenes of our shopping trip.  This one is so fun and I just loved the Texas attitude!

De Gournay’s San Francisco Store
I’m  bananas for de Gournay’s stunning wallpaper. Have you seen their luscious collaboration with Joseph Aquazzura? Lucky me their second U.S. outpost just opened on San Francisco’s chic Sacramento Street.  We’ll be celebrating with Jonathan Rachman and the stylish sisters behind de Gournay by co-hosting a private tea party at the store, which is really just a chance to pretend for a moment that we live there.

San Francisco Decorator Showhouse
I love this local event, and this year I’m particularly excited to see the kitchen by Jon de la Cruz (which will also be featured in House Beautiful), Jonathan Rachman (his living room is inspired by the lifelong friendship of Hubert Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn) and the always amazing work of the inimitable Beth Martin. This year marks the showhouse’s 40th anniversary, so if you’ve never been… get on it. All proceeds benefit the financial paid program of San Francisco University High School.

Highpoint Furniture Market
We’re baaaaack and hosting a super fun series of delicious chats to dig into. Come say hi! We’ll be playing ‘Love It or Hate It’ with Domino magazine’s Editor in Chief Jessica Romm Perez, designers Kara Cox, Mark Cutler, Cortney Bishop, Krista Nye Nicholas of Cloth & Kind and Kevin Walsh.

House Style
If a visit to Chatsworth House is on your design loving bucket list, now is the time! The exhibition House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth is on view now through October 22nd and features the sartorial stylings of the various Chatsworth inhabitants and their guests. If you can’t make it to England, an afternoon flipping through of the book that accompanies the exhibit is the next best thing.

Georgia O’Keefe: Living Modern
Yet another example of how distinctive personal style transcends medium, O’Keefe’s clothing will be on display alongside her paintings and portraits of the artist herself. Think a follow-up trip to Ghost Ranch, her stunning home in New Mexico, may be in order.

Easter!
My favorite holiday is almost here! I adore the colors, flowers, egg hunts, the food, the clothes and of course, the cocktails. This is a wonderful Easter cocktail – a champagne punch. I love a pitcher drink as it’s easy on the hostess! Also for hosting, I’m digging these samovars, or coffee/tea dispensers. GREAT at a brunch and absolutely perfect for Easter.
